The top 10 best kept secrets from a make-up artist.
- Always begin with clean and moisturised skin.
- Apply an eye gel underneath the eye to give the skin an added boost.
- Foundation should always be applied down into the neck area, so as not to have a colour difference between the neck and the face.
- Once you have applied the foundation, coat the lips with a softening agent so that they will be soft by the time you apply your lipstick.
- Concealer can be applied after the foundation, this way you get a better highlight.
- Apply powder with a brush to get a lighter coverage – this enables the skin’s natural glow to shine through.
- Eyebrows should always be well defined. They can be kept in place with a spritz of hairspray onto a eyebrow comb and then styled into shape.
- When applying eye shadow always start with a light application, as it is simpler to keep adding where needed, than trying to lighten it when too dark.
- When applying eyeliner it is always good to rest your elbow on a solid surface to steady your hand, so that you get an accurate line.
- Lipstick is best applied with a lip brush – you get a more accurate shape and the lipstick lasts longer.
